Now that you know what's going on, if you live in America, follow [THIS LINK] and sign the petition. Then, follow [THIS LINK] and find your local representative. E-mail them, write them, phone them, let them know what you think.
Finally, and this is for those who don't live in the U.S. too, go [HERE] and download the associated .txt file which contains all of the coding and links used in this Journal. Repost. Get everybody watching this video. Share any way you can. This is a very big deal.
(Yes, I'm a little late to the party, I know. Blame the Hunger Games novels. >.>)
Hello, sorry to bother you, but may I ask for some assistance?
I'm trying to spread the news of a petition that's meant to go straight to the Obama Administration. It's against SOPA and for potentially making a new US Amendment to protect the Internet from stuff like this in the future.
The petition needs 25,000 signatures before December 18, and right now it isn't even close to reaching it. Only has, at time of writing, 7,701. So I'm trying to spread this around as much as possible so as many people can learn of this.
I know you're from Australia, and right now I have no idea if people out of the U.S can sign it, but if you can that would be magnificent. But I'm mainly wondering if you could help me spread this news by making a journal article about it and encouraging anyone who comments on it to spread it as well.
Here's my journal concerning this petition. The link to the petition is in it. [link]
I'm sorry if this bothers you, but I'm trying my best to let others know of this. If 25,000 signatures are reached before the deadline, we might be able to prevent something like this from ever happening again!
Thanks for your cooperation.
Oh yes, and since you're from Australia, I think it would be good if I linked you to this article I found. It has to do with your country. I have no idea how true it is, but hey. [link]
Unfortunately, I can't sign it myself. You need an account, and for a legitimate account, you need a U.S. ZIP code.
Journals of small time deviants aren't getting much in the way of views. You might want to post a topic in the dA forums. They get a LOT more activity than Journals, so you should find a tonne of signatures there. I'd do so myself, but it might be better for an American to.
I wouldn't be so sure that it's hopeless, though. Only five days, and it's already hit 30%.
As for the article regarding Australian politics, not much of it is news to me. That the sex party gets attention these days is the biggest surprise. xD
I was able to make an account without using a zip. It's optional.
Ah alright, thanks for the suggestion. Never used the forums before so I didn't even consider it. XD
Good point, but what's bizarre is how other petitions were capable of getting over 100k signatures in less than a day, but this one is going so slow. ._.

Just my opinion/yt video

Ah alright. Just thought I would share.
